Capstone: Introduce Yourself Like You Mean It

🎒 What you need

• a partner to receive the introduction
• fifteen minutes
• the phone once, to check your tones

✋ Do this

1. Write out your own version of the four sentences, filling in your name and where you are from.
2. Check every tone once against the audio, especially 很高兴认识你. Then put the phone away.
3. Say the whole introduction out loud five times standing up, without notes.
4. Now deliver it to a real person, face to face, with a handshake and eye contact. Do not stop and translate in the middle. If you stumble, keep going.
5. Write the whole introduction out in characters on cardboard and hang it where you sleep. This is what you have built.
6. Ask your listener one question afterwards: 请问，你叫什么名字？ — and understand the answer.
