Make It Move ยท Module 4 of 8
๐Ÿ“ฑ Shared phone

Move It On the Screen

The same commands you shouted at your friend now make a shape move on a phone.

A phone screen with a cat sprite and three coloured blocks stacked beside it.

๐ŸŽ’ What you need

โœ‹ Do this

  1. Turn the phone sideways. Everything is easier sideways.
  2. Drag one 'move 10 steps' block under the green flag and tap it. The cat shifts. That tiny movement is your first program running.
  3. Add 'turn 90 degrees'. Then another move. You are writing exactly the list you shouted in module 1.
  4. Draw a square path. Four moves, four turns. If your square comes out crooked, check your turn number.
  5. Now recreate your module 1 water route on the screen, obstacle and all. Draw the bucket as a second sprite.
  6. Tap the green flag and watch your dust-path from week one run inside a phone.

๐Ÿ’ก Why it works

Nothing new happened here โ€” that is the lesson. Blocks are just your spoken commands written in a way a machine can obey. This is why doing it with your body first was not a waste of time: you already knew the hard part before you touched the screen.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Challenge

Program a triangle without being told the turn number. Get it wrong, look at the shape, and adjust. That is how real engineers find numbers.
