ب + ي + ت → بيت

🎒 What you need

cardboard from a box
scissors or a sharp edge
a marker or charcoal

✋ Do this

Cut three cardboard strips. Write ب on one, ي on the next, ت on the last, one letter per strip.
Lay them out RIGHT to LEFT in that order. Now push them together until they touch. That squashing together is exactly what Arabic writing does.
Copy the joined word بيت onto one new card. Notice how the boat at the start lost its tail — it gave up its tail to hold the next letter's hand.
Write بيت big on your wall or in the sand and say bayt. Then point at your actual house.
Do the same trick with شمس — shams — sun, and قمر — qamar — moon. Copy them joined.
Hold up your three word-cards and read them aloud to someone, right to left, pointing as you go.

💡 Why it works

Beginners often learn the isolated letters and then panic at real Arabic, because real Arabic is always joined. Meeting the joining on day two — physically pushing cards together — means you never build the wrong mental picture in the first place.
