Capstone: A Real Arabic Conversation

Today you greet, ask, answer and part — a complete conversation in Arabic, with a real person, out loud.

مرحبا → ما اسمك؟ → اسمي… → كيف حالك؟ → بخير، شكرا
Read it right to left. Five lines and the conversation is complete.

🎒 What you need

✋ Do this

  1. Learn the five lines in order. اسمي — ismī — literally means 'my name'.
  2. Check them once against the audio, paying attention to the ح in كيف حالك. Then put the phone away.
  3. Practise both roles with a sibling until neither of you has to stop and think.
  4. Now have the conversation for real, with somebody who has not watched you rehearse. Start with مرحبا and do not switch languages until you reach مع السلامة.
  5. Write the whole conversation out in Arabic script on cardboard, joined up, right to left. Hang it on the wall.
  6. Point at your cardboard and read the whole thing aloud to your family. That is the proof.

💡 Why it works

Running a full exchange without pausing to translate is the step that converts memorised phrases into usable language. And writing it out joined, right to left, proves that the script you met as strange dots eight modules ago now belongs to your own hand.

🔥 Challenge

Have the whole conversation with somebody who actually speaks Arabic. Ask them to correct exactly one thing.
