🎒 What you need
- your kitchen shelf, or a shop with an adult
- paper and a pen
✋ Do this
- Learn the five words first. Read each one aloud, right to left, letter by letter.
- Now go to your kitchen shelf or a nearby shop. Turn packets around and look for Arabic script — dates, tinned goods, oil bottles, tea, soap and medicine boxes are the best hunting grounds.
- Copy any Arabic writing you find onto your paper, exactly as printed, joined up.
- Sound out at least one word you copied. You do not need the meaning — reading it aloud is the achievement.
- Label five real things in your kitchen with cards in Arabic: حليب, سكر, ملح, أرز, زيت. Tape them on and leave them.
- Walk one family member around the kitchen and read your labels to them.
💡 Why it works
Reading Arabic that was printed for shoppers rather than for learners is the moment the script becomes real. Labelling things in your own home also gives you dozens of small unplanned reviews every day, without any effort at all.
🔥 Challenge
Find one packet in the house with Arabic on it that nobody else in your family had noticed. Then read it to them.
